Design Integration: Steelhead cranes are highly adaptable to be able to meet your custom design needs. We will meet or exceed your requirements for customized crane design applications. We start with a standardized model design that's been proven and field-tested, that we can adapt as needed. Whether your ultimate goal is to blend the crane into the combing or completely "hide" the crane from sight, we can produce many "not possible" solutions that other crane builders cannot because our compact cranes are about 1/3 smaller than others. Our smaller size is made possible by using stronger, lighter weight, world-class materials and unique, tested & proven crane designs. Steelhead cranes are easier to "hide" yet are the strongest and lightest cranes in the industry.
- Early 3-D Design Renderings of your project with ideas for crane integration: Before you put more serious development time into your project, Steelhead Design & Engineering can work with you to produce early concept renderings of what can be achieved in yacht/crane integration and placement to show you what crane innovations are possible. Highest-Quality Materials: Steelhead crane materials are meticulously selected to the highest standards to maximize durability, strength, performance and compact design. We use advanced, state-of-the-art marine grade materials to produce the lightest and strongest cranes in the industry:
- 17-4 PH Stainless Steel Truck Assemblies (equivalent strength to Aquamet 17; 4.2X stronger than 5086 aluminum or stainless). We're certified to weld 17-4pH stainless steel - a superior strength material that most builders cannot weld.
- 6061 - T6 Aluminum Main Boom Bodies (27% stronger than 5086 aluminum)
- 2205 Duplex Stainless Boom Extensions (2.2X stronger than 316 stainless)
- AMSteel Composite Rope - 40% stronger than standard steel cable. 10 Micron Stainless filter.
- CORROSION CONTROL: We use comprehensive corrosion control treatments that are the best program in the industry to extend the life of the crane.
- These include metalized steel components, 5-Step Paint System, stainless steel trim, composite bushings, gold contacts on controls, nickel-plated gear and stainless steel main truck.
